SHOULD WE CUT DOWN 6,700 TREES IN HANOI CAPITAL?

I have read news recently about my country, Vietnam. They had a plan to cut down all 6,700 trees in Hanoi capital, and they will replace by the small ones. This things made all people in Hanoi so angry because those trees, was there for a long time, is one of the things make Hanoi is more beautifully. People are also familiar with those trees, some of them grown up along with the growth up of these trees. A lot of newspaper took a survey in the population about that plan, and there are too many disagree ideas. People comeback Vietnam from other developed countries talk about how people reserve and take care of trees in those countries. They wrote a lot of letters, articles sent to the government, authority.
All Vietnamese people know that, we have very hot weather in summer. Hanoi is high population density. Trees provide people in Hanoi with oxygen, and trees also help air-condition the atmosphere.
The questions here are: should we continue do this plan? Why we do that?
After having too much disagreement from citizen, the authority decides to stop this plan. They announce that they will take a survey from citizen about which trees should be cut down to replace new ones. Moreover, they will make a plan to do it gradually. In my opinion, that is a right decision.
I’m lucky when I have chance to study abroad in one of the most developed countries, The United State. When I came here, I was so impressive with the weather, the atmosphere here. I could walk outside without wearing any mask, glove like I did in Vietnam. I can see how people take care the trees; every road has trees at two sides. As one of my English teacher, who comes from Australia said: “I have never seen any people who are weird like Vietnamese people. They cover from their head till their legs when they go outside. Sometimes, my students say hi to me, but I never realize who they are.”

I know Vietnam is developing; the factories are built more and more; the roads are expanded; people are more and more crowded, so they need to cut down the trees for residents, for industrialize. However, what I want to say is developing a long with steady. We should learn from developed countries, they expand road without damaging any trees. They develop the economy, but they pay attention to protect the environment. We do it today, but we should think for the next generation. How long will it take for a new tree to grow up like present, to cover the road, to air-condition the atmosphere? I wish Vietnamese people would think more about protecting the environment. I wish the business wouldn’t only think about profit, but also spend money on improving the environment. I wish my kids could enjoy the fresh air. I wish I wouldn’t have to cover my face with mask, my hands with gloves whenever I go out. I wish the government would take a look in that plan. Is it worth to continuous damaging our environment?

DO YOU CONCERN ABOUT RECYCLING TRASH?

I was born and raised in Vietnam, where people don't really care about environment. So, we have bad pollution in Vietnam. Whenever you go out, you always use the mask to avoid dust, smoke from cars or motorcycles. At the first time I went to The US for studying abroad, and I liked the atmosphere here, very clean and fresh. I can see people here pay attention to protect the environment.
I lived in South Dakota 6 months ago, and I noticed that every house here have just one trashcan, and there is no trashcan for recycle trash. I wonder if people take trash from household, then they will separate between recycle and non-recycle trash. If they don't do that, why don't we protect our environment by recycling trash. However, if the employees classify trash, why don't we help them to do that. Many of us know that their job is hard, we can help them reduce their hard work by classifying trash before they come to take it.
DO YOU CONCERN ABOUT RECYCLING TRASH? DO YOU MIND SEPARATING TRASH?
